Taryn Ponsky, M.A., LPCC has been practicing as a licensed counselor and art therapist with both children and adults for 10 years. She believes people come to therapy for many reasons, but their overall goal is to improve upon themselves and their lives. Taryn believes success can be achieved by gaining a certain level of self-understanding. She enjoys supporting her client's journey through this process of self-discovery.
She has been trained and exposed to multiple approaches in therapy (e.g. psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and chemical dependency treatment). She has specialized training in child/adolescent development with a concentration on issues that often arise in families. She works in a variety of modalities including adult therapy, parent guidance, child therapy, family therapy, and couples therapy.
